Pakistan hosts meeting of regional states’ spymasters 
Pakistan on Saturday hosted a meeting of spymasters of some
countries in the region on the situation in Afghanistan, a security
source said. There was no official statement on the meeting, but
an intelligence source privately confirmed that the session had
taken place.

Talks with IMF for sixth tranche to start by month-end
Pakistan will start staff-level discussions with the International
Monetary Fund by end of the current month for the release of sixth
tranche under the $6 billion Extended Fund Facility (EFF), a top

Monetary policy on 20th The State Bank will announce the monetary policy on Sept 20, said
a statement issued by the central bank on Friday. The monetary
policy is critical for the stakeholders, particularly the business sector
since the interest rate has unchanged for more than a year while
inflation is higher than the interest rate.

Rs 493b invested under PM’s Package for construction
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Saturday informed that Rs 493
billion were the total declared investment made through the
registered projects under the Prime Minister’s Package for
construction sector.

Car sales surge 87% in July-August
The sales of locally-assembled/manufactured cars registered a
sharp increase of 87 per cent during the first two months of the
current fiscal year, according to the data released by the Pakistan
Automotive Manufacturers Association (Pama).
